Department of Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the development and application of computer system and software. This branch covers subjects like algorithms, computer architecture and organization, circuits and signals, database systems, digital logic, digital signal processing, embedded systems, web technology, programming fundamentals, software engineering etc.

The department was established in the year 2001.It has well qualified and dedicated professionals. It is driven by the goal to develop a motivated and dynamic team of technocrats. The department is committed towards imparting quality education and emphasizes on the all round development of the students. It has its own departmental library with the latest books and journals. The department has developed software for the in-house administration.

Victory at TECHNIX 2025 – Project Idea Pitching Competition

Our team from Computer Engineering department comprising of Suhasini Chandekar, Shrinivas Patil, and Sankalp secured 1st place in the Project Idea Pitching Competition at TECHNIX 2025, a prestigious technical event organized by GEC College, on 20th March 2025

Their project titled ‘ Lung Disease Classification Using Breath Sounds’, stood out among the competition, showcasing its potential in early disease detection through AI-driven sound analysis. The innovative approach and practical application of our idea were recognized by the judges, earning us this incredible achievement.
This victory is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for technological
advancements in healthcare. The project is guided by Prof. Pratiksha Shetgaonkar, H.o.D, Computer Engineering Department.

1st Prize at TECHFLUENCE – Celebrating Innovation at GEC IT Department’s Event

This achievement highlights their dedication, hard work, and deep understanding of their subject. Participating in such events boosts students’ academic and professional growth. Exciting Achievement: Paper Accepted and Presented at CVR2025 Conference!!

We’re thrilled to announce that the paper titled “Knee Osteoarthritis Detection System using AI” from our Computer Engineering Department, was accepted and presented at the CVR2025 Conference, held on April 25-26, 2025 at NIT Goa. With an acceptance rate of less than 20%, this is a remarkable accomplishment.

Congratulations to our students, Mr. Leo Francis, Ms. Charuta Shelar, Mr. Dattaram Gurav, and Mr. Mohidin Khan, for this achievement and on their dedication and hard work, and to their guide, Prof. Pratiksha Shetgaonkar, on her invaluable guidance, mentorship and support throughout the process.
