Information Technology

Information technology is the branch of engineering that deals with the use of computers and telecommunications, store – retrieve and transmit information. The acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics-based combination of computing and telecommunications are included. Web technology, bioinformatics, cloud computing, global information systems, large scale knowledge bases, etc. are the emerging field of information technology.

The department of Information Technology was established in the year 2001 with an objective to create dynamic technocrats in the field of Information Technology. The objective of the department is well focused. The faculty are engaged molding the students as competent engineers for the I.T. Industries, well established laboratories, teaching methodologies are the highlights of the department.
The department deals with various technical activities like seminars, workshops, short-term courses, group discussion which helps to enhance student’s ability.
The department encourages the students to undertake software and hardware industrial projects and to participate in various technical symposium.
